The Harley Quinn animated series is truly something that “won’t die,” and we should all be grateful for that! This show was born on the defunct DC Universe platform, which then moved to HBO Max, and then a whole bunch of stuff happened behind the scenes with the merger that became Warner Bros Discovery, and then the DCEU “died,” and yet, this show lives. Season 4 aired earlier in the year (read our review!), and fans eagerly awaited a fifth season’s confirmation.
Welp, we got it! Not only did we get it, it was the official Warner Bros Animation Twitter handle that confirmed it, and we even got a statement from one of the WBD heads about it:
“The talented Harley Quinn team has once again succeeded in delivering a season that builds on everything that has come before while still feeling fresh and inventive,” Suzanna Makkos, Executive Vice President, Original Comedy and Adult Animation, Max and Adult Swim said in a statement. “They continue to provide hilarious, heartwarming, and deranged stories with our lovable group of DC misfits, and we couldn’t be more excited for the fans to see what they’ve accomplished in season 5.”
Guess who’s back for more chaos? 💥 Season 5 of #HarleyQuinn is coming soon to @StreamOnMax. pic.twitter.com/k7F8g56AbX

That’s great news, and the team behind the show were hoping to continue their adventures. While Season 4 wasn’t the best of the series, in our opinion, it still had plenty to enjoy, and they left the latest season with one heck of a cliffhanger. Harley Quinn, Poison Ivy, Barbara Gordon, and the returning Catwoman formed the “Gotham City Sirens” to try and find the body of Nightwing, which had been dug up from its grave. The twist is that Damian Wayne and Talia Al Ghul dug it up and put him in the Lazarus Pit!
That’s bad for Harley because she…accidentally killed him in the 4th season while in a dream-walking state, and now he wants revenge! Oops. While Harley Quinn Season 5 doesn’t have a release date, late 2024 or early 2025 seems fair to guess.
