The SUPER ROBOT WARS series has been around for an incredible 34 years with the majority of its releases coming out only in Japan. From the first game’s release, Super Robot Wars on the Nintendo Gameboy in 1991 to its most recent game, (which also celebrated the series 30th anniversary), Super Robot Wars 30 in 2021, only a handful of the games have released in English and actually been out overseas. Today, Bandai Namco revealed the newest entry in the series, Super Robot Wars Y, is getting a late summer release date with a global release, and also brought with it a new trailer as well.
Super Robot Wars Y releases on August 28, 2025 and continues the series staple of bringing together Mecha from a myriad of different anime and manga series in tactical JRPG grid based combat. Many of the well-known units from past games are included in Super Robot Wars Y along with some first-time appearances, especially for those purchasing the game on Nintendo Switch or PlayStation 5.

Aside from the aforementioned release date, the new Super Robot Wars Y trailer gives details on the Assist Link system where additional crew members can help the main pilot during fights, while also showing off some cool gameplay moments. In addition, there are details on the various premium editions available for purchase, including a special soundtrack pack with 31 additional anime OST songs and other additions grant extra missions or 2-Day early access to the game too.
