Earlier today Hazelight Studios, the developer behind Split Fiction announced via a post on BlueSky Split Fiction has hit 2 million sales in just its first week of release. Of course, this is someway off the 23 million copies sold by Hazelight Studios’ It Takes Two, but that game has been on the market for 4 years.
SPLIT FICTION has sold 2 MILLION copies in 1 WEEK!!
Holy crap, we’re blown away! Simply amazing…
Thank you to all of our new and old fans – we love how excited you are for our game! 😍 pic.twitter.com/7hkNNbceJs— Hazelight Studios (@HazelightGames) March 13, 2025
While I don’t expect Split Fiction to hit the same heights over its lifetime. This is an extremely good start, one that proves once again there is a strong market for co-op experiences in gaming.
I’ve played Split Fiction and will have a review coming as soon as its ready. To give a teaser of what I think, let’s just say there is a very good reason this game has sold 2 million copies in such a short time.
Split Fiction is available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
