Paramount has finally given the world what it wanted to see… the first trailer for its upcoming Knuckles six-part mini-series, debuting on Paramount Plus on April 26, 2024, which doesn’t disappoint. Following his adventures with Sonic and Tails in Sonic the Hedgehog 2 movie, Knuckles, played by Idris Elda, struggles to adapt to his new life on Earth. Now, he’s teaming up with Wade, played by Adam Pally, and will be heading for new adventures, which looks like a lot of fun.
This production in this series looks fantastic. As we can see from the trailer, original members from the first two Sonic the Hedgehog movies are back, as are several references to the Sonic the Hedgehog (and Knuckles) games. Moreso, there’s a new baddie in town who isn’t Doctor Robotnik, but someone who worked with him and has yet to be named. Yet, he seemed to either have access to Robotnik’s gear or maybe it was he who made all the stuff and had his credit stolen. We don’t know yet.
I also love how Wade is the co-star in this series and brings his cowardice and comedy style as Knuckles to train him in the ways of the Echidna warrior. Maybe we’ll see a tougher, more confident Wade at the end. Fingers crossed.
Give the Knuckles trailer below a watch.
In addition to this mini-series, Knuckles will be tagging along with Sonic and Tails in a new adventure in Sonic the Hedgehog Movie 3, where we’ll see yet another central character from the Sonic universe make an appearance: Shadow the Hedgehog. Sonic the Hedgehog 3 will appear in theaters on December 20, 2024.
