We’re less than ten days away from the Nintendo Switch 2 Direct that’ll reveal the many games that’ll be on the system in the first year or so. Anticipation is growing at such a rate that you’d be forgiven for thinking there’s nothing left to talk about. Yet, there’s ALWAYS something to talk about. For example, the crew at PocketPair have once again commented on bringing its hit game Palworld to the Switch 2. During GDC, IGN got to chat with Communications Director John Buckley, who noted that the team is still interested in the console, but they apparently haven’t seen it yet:
“We haven’t seen those specs yet. Like everyone else, we’re waiting. I’m walking around GDC hoping someone will tell me them, but everyone I’ve spoken to says they haven’t even seen them. If it’s beefy enough, it’s 100% worth considering. We did a lot of optimization for Steam Deck, which we were really happy with. Still work to do, but we’re really happy with how it turned out. So we would like to get it on more handhelds if possible.”
The big “catch” here is that The Pokemon Company is suing Pocket Pair for certain things it did within Palworld. What happens with that lawsuit is anyone’s guess, but it’s still going on right now. That might be the reason the team hasn’t seen the Nintendo Switch 2 yet.
However, if that changes, it could be another reason to get the console when it arrives later this year.
