Outerhaven’s Holiday Gift Guide 2016: Over $150

Dansette Bermuda Vinyl Player ($250)

There’s nothing quite like playing your favorite album or soundtrack on vinyl. The Crosley Dansette Bermuda is an affordable, stylish vinyl player on legs that plays tracks both from your iPod (via an aux cable) and traditional vinyl. The sound quality obviously isn’t as great as a player worth triple the price – but I’ve had mine for years now and absolutely love it.

Amazon Echo ($179.99)

Utilizing Amazon's Alexa Voice service, the Echo is a hands-free speaker you control with your voice. Echo connects to the Alexa Voice Service to play music (I connected my Pandora account,) provide information, news, sports scores, weather, and more—instantly. It can hear you from almost anywhere, even while music is playing!

The speaker is also pretty loud, even at the 5 or 6 volume level, so this is definitely something you don't want to miss out on! Hell, you can even order Domino's Pizza from it!

Batman Bookshelves ($397)

Batman is one of the most beloved superheroes in the world, and if you’re a big fan of the caped crusader, these bookshelves are a must have. Available in both Dark Knight and traditional designs, these logo-shaped bookshelves come assembled and come with a wall template to make installation a breeze. Whether you’re looking to add some personal touches to a new home or just adding more storage space, these bookshelves let you do so in Gotham style

PS4 Slim 1TB Final Fantasy XV Limited Edition Bundle ($449.99)

If you're looking to upgrade your PS4 hardware to something thinner and themed, you can't go wrong with this special Final Fantasy XV bundle. Including the deluxe edition of the game, the Kingsglaive film, a special controller and a gorgeous system, this is a must have for any fan.

Earthbound for the Super Nintendo ($150-$200)

No words could possibly do the SNES classic Earthbound justice. It's a masterpiece of a game, a certified cult classic, and a must-have for any games collector. Sure, you could just download it on your Wii U or 3DS, but where's the novelty in that? Playing Earthbound on its original console was a life changing experience for me.

It's my favorite game of all-time, and when people ask me if I think they'll like it I always have the same response: "If you have a heart, there's no way you won't love it."

Alienware Alpha R2 ($400-$700)

For those who are either interested in PC gaming or are looking to move their PC gaming into the living room, this may be the perfect gift. Smaller than nearly 95% of small form factor PCs, the Alienware Alpha R2 packs enough power to run most current titles at a decent frame rate @ 1080p. Both of the Intel i3 and i7 variants are priced aggressively and during the holiday season, they can be had for fraction of their asking price. Small enough to fit in just about any entertainment or TV stand, while providing a console-like experience. Since they are running either Windows 8 or Windows 10, you can install just about anything on it, from Steam to emulators and more.

Add a wireless controller such as the Xbox 360/One controller or even a Dualshock 4 (using DS4Windows) and you've got a machine that can give the PlayStation 4 or Xbox One a run for their money.
