As we head toward the end of the year, many people are looking to see how much the Big 3’s consoles will sell in the upcoming “holiday sales” runs that are only weeks away. And because of that, it’s important to look at the quarterly data to see where we stand and how much the consoles can do. For Nintendo, they dropped their quarterly numbers, and it revealed that the Nintendo Switch has passed 132 million units sold. If you recall, when the last quarterly numbers dropped, the Switch was under 130 million, so it sold about 3 million in the quarter.
The last quarter saw sales of 5 million, but it should be noted that said quarter had Tears of the Kingdom in it, which was obviously a “system mover,” while the new quarter only had Pikmin 4 and the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet DLC.
With this new quarter, two Mario games could help move units. But even still the Nintendo Switch is doing well in its “final days” and that’s what matters.
