Ah yes, the Palico—your lovable, cat-like combat companion and loyal best friend—has returned in Monster Hunter Wilds. However, just like in previous entries, I feel that it can make the adventure a bit too easy. The Palico provides healing, often right when you need it, and can pull a monster’s aggro, giving you a moment to heal or take other actions.
Some players might find that the Palico makes the game a little too easy, but thankfully, there’s an option to disable it if you prefer to leave your adorable kitty at home.
How to Disable the Palico in Monster Hunter Wilds
You can easily disable the Palico in Monster Hunter Wilds by setting it to “Standby.” To do this, enter your tent at a main campsite or a pop-up campsite.
Once inside, go to the Palico Menu and select “Palico Deployment Status.” You’ll have two options: Deploy and Standby. Simply select Standby to disable your Palico.
