Earlier today, I posted my recap and thoughts on the newest Nintendo Direct. To be blunt, I wasn’t impressed. However, one of the highlights was Metroid Prime 4 Beyond. The LONG-awaited title is coming out this year, and today, alongside a new trailer, we also got an official synopsis for the title, AND, we got a look at the game’s official cover art! To be just as blunt as before…it’s REALLY cool-looking. Like, seriously, this is the kind of cover art that’ll get people to buy it on sight. Check it out below:
Yep. That’s dope. As for the official Nintendo synopsis, the game piggybacks on what the trailer noted, but it’s never a bad thing to hear it again:
Samus Aran has been unexpectedly transported to the planet Viewros. As she explores the planet for answers, Samus is granted Psychic Abilities – mysterious and ancient powers that allow her to control the trajectory of her beams, operate mechanisms and open doors. Why were these powers bestowed upon Samus and what will her fate be? The threads intertwining beyond space and time will weave a new tale.
Now, I know Nintendo said that this Direct was just for Switch 1 games, but c’mon. I’m pretty sure we’re all thinking the same thing: Metroid Prime 4: Beyond is also going to be available for the Switch 2. Since we don’t know the release date, just the release window, again, all we can do is assume.
