It’s about to be a pixel party at Macca’s as we bring the cinematic world of A Minecraft Movie to our fans of all ages across 100 countries with A Minecraft Movie Meal and McDonald’s Happy Meal, starting from Wednesday, 2 April.
Minecraft fans will enter the McDonald’s portal with our new limited-time meals, featuring exclusive collectibles and matching cards that unlock in-game experiences, a fiery hot sauce inspired by The Nether, special pixelated packaging and more.
From crafting pixel-perfect replicas of our iconic McDonald’s Golden Arches and world-famous menu items to stacking block upon block into full-on restaurants, fans have been building their love for McDonald’s in Minecraft for years.
Now, inspired by their block-tastic imaginations and the global big screen adventure debuting in Aussie cinemas on 3 April, we’re unlocking a new level of ‘Creative Mode’ (meaning more fun, magic and feel-good experiences) – because in moments big and small, we’re here to serve up more of what you love, alongside the food you know and enjoy.
“A Minecraft Movie Meal unites two iconic worlds, bringing fans’ imagination of Minecraft and magic of McDonaldland to life. This is a global celebration of creativity, connection, and a shared love for building communities, and we can’t wait for Aussies to experience the wonder of it all.” – Amanda Nakad, Marketing Director of Menu and Brand for McDonald’s Australia.
A Minecraft Movie Meal
A Minecraft Movie Meal stars one of six collectibles inspired by McDonald’s most beloved characters and menu items, and popular Minecraft treasures. Elevate your mining sessions with:
- Big Mac Crystal – Mined from the sea of special sauce, this precious block derives its radiant shine from melty cheese and a toasty sesame seed bun.
- Birdie Wings – Keep your eye to the sky or you might miss the early bird soaring high above the clouds with a rare pair of elytra wings.
- Fry Helmet – Forged from the iconic French Fry box, this enchanted helmet is rumored to protect you from friends stealing your last Fry.
- Grimace Egg – Emerging from the depths of a purple shake, this magical Grimace mob gets its shape from the most coveted egg of them all.
- Soda Potion – The electrifying effect of this potion is as mysterious as its recipe: an accidental combo of fantastic fizzy flavors.
- Zombie Hamburger – Little is known about this hungry mob who spawns late at night and wanders all biomes in search of hamburgers.
Collect them all to stock up your inventory – each collectible comes with a matching card and a code so you can scan to unlock an exclusive skin in the Minecraft Marketplace. AND, if you purchase through the MyMacca’s App, you get a free in-game bonus – a special Minecraft Add-On pack with access to in-game enhancements featuring McDonaldland characters, builds and tools.
The food you ask? Well, you can build your world and your meal. Fans can choose between a Big Mac or 10-piece Chicken McNuggets, served alongside Fries and your favourite Drink. Craving a saucy kick to your Chicken McNuggets? Pair it with a side of Nether Flame Sauce – a limited-edition hot sauce inspired by The Nether (IYKYK) with crushed red pepper and flaming
cayenne, balanced with hints of garlic and sweetness.
A Minecraft Movie Happy Meal
Families and our youngest fans can join in on the fun too with A Minecraft Movie Happy Meal. Each meal comes with one of 12, film-inspired Blockhead or Block World toys:
- Blockheads – Pink Sheep, Bee, Skeleton, Creeper, Evoker and Dennis
- Block Worlds – Gold Block & Dawn, Grass Block & Llama, Redstone Block & Creeper, Diamond Block & Steve, Pink Wool Block & Pink Sheep and Stone Block & Garrett
The McDonald’s adventure doesn’t end there though. Every Happy Meal also comes with a scannable code to unlock an exclusive digital game where players can complete their very own quest in the A Minecraft Movie world on www.happymeal.com.
