-Press Release
This is an absolute surprise. MADO MONOGATARI made its debut in the 90s as early PC games. Heck even one of the more popular puzzle series, Puyo Puyo, was a spin-off of the series. I can’t say I ever played it I don’t think it ever made its way to the west at all. After looking into it, it looks like the latest game in the series did make it to the West on the PlayStation Vita but under a new name, Sorcery Saga. These games were all dungeon crawlers that had different stories but all had something to do with magic.
The newest entry seems to be about a brand new story about being in a magic school. Fia wants to become a full-fledged mage and join the Mage’s Academy. You will be doing dungeon crawling to accomplish objectives and earn your role in this academy. This is awesome. Having a super old IP that belonged to Compile Heart before they were even known as Compile Heart come back and be localized is groundbreaking for the company.
MADO MONOGATARI: Fia and the Wonderous Academy will be released in 2025 on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch. You can wishlist the game on the Idea Factory International website.
