In Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, you’ll need a spade to dig graves and get loot from them. Unfortunately, you can’t use it as an early-game weapon if you’re lacking a sword. Here’s how to get this tool in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, fellow knight.
Where To Buy a Spade in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2
There are multiple ways of gaining a spade in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. The easiest way is to simply buy one from the local merchant. In the town of Troskowitz, you’ll find the Merchant Jurg Thomel in the northwest section of the village. He’s inside the building with a blue sign out in front that has a hand with scales on it. Trade with him.
Go down to the “Usable” section where a Spade is located on the shop menu. You can buy the item for 7 Groschen. By the way, if you improve your reputation, you can get better prices at stores, so it may be cheaper if you prove your worthiness to the locals. The spade will carry 7kg on your weight so make sure you have enough room for the new item.
How to Steal a Spade
You can steal a spade from the local gravesite in Troskowitz. Take the main pathway east of the village, go past the butcher’s, and keep moving in this direction. Stealing from a holy place may feel weird, but this is a video game after all. Head into the gravesite, and head to the white building with a cross on top of it at the end of the gravesite. A spade is lying on the right side of the building next to a cart. Hold the cross button (or A on Xbox) to steal it. Make sure no one can see you before taking it like the gravedigger.
How to Use the Spade
You can use the spade to dig up gravesites for loot. It’s kind of despicable, but when you’re reaching your lowest in this game, you’ll find whatever is necessary to stay alive. When you’re near a grave, you should see an option on the bottom right of the screen saying “Rob the grave” with a button next to it, likely cross/A. Press the button, and a cutscene will play. Good luck on the rest of your adventures in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 with this spade in hand.
