Hori has revealed the new Fighting Commander Octa Pro controller. TGS 2024 first showed this version last year. After acknowledging some of the majors happening in the area, such as the upcoming Street Fighter League, they announced the follow-up to their Octa series. The Pro is now wireless, but can also be connected via a USB cable – which is a welcomed change from its’ original line. The directional buttons can be changed out with 3 different options. The PS4 and PS5 are still there for support, but a new directional on the right will be available.
There are programmable buttons for the rear this round. With some of the more elaborate fighting games these days such as Guilty Gear Strive and some ideas to simplify even the most efforts in Street Fighter VI, it’s a definite resourceful feature for those who are more into hitbox-based controllers. The right knob has also been added, similar to the Tekken 8 Windows Edition Octa. The directional stick returns, too.
The Hori Fighting Commander Octa Pro will be available on March 27, 2025. with the preorders are currently up on Amazon.
