The number are in, and Elden Ring Nightreign players had a busy weekend. That is to say, those lucky enough to join the Network Test in February had a busy weekend. From February 14th to 16th, select players got to preview a build of the game. And those testing the game defeated the final boss of the demo almost 60,000 times—58,615 to be exact.
Elden Ring Nightreign Numbers
Bandai Namco recently published a variety of figures relating to the Network Test. Elden Ring Nightreign players also defeated the Flying Dragon of the Hills 147,202 times, the Fire Monk 150,128 times, and the Flame Chariots 164,974 times. But the honor of “most defeated boss” goes to the Golden Hippopotamus, defeated a whopping 194,996 times.
These numbers are especially impressive considering that players couldn’t go online with Elden Ring Nightreign on the first day of the test. Due to server issues, the test couldn’t let players online until later, and didn’t have matchmaking until Sunday, February 16th.
That said, once the test was up and running online, it had a lot to offer. In our preview, we expressed hesitancy about an Elden Ring co-op game but found that the test proved that FromSoftware can successfully make a co-op game. In another piece, we also praised the game for reminding us of Escape the Dark Castle, a fun and accessible co-op dungeon-crawler tabletop game.
When the full game comes out, players will have even more maps to explore and bosses to defeat. The Elden Ring Nightreign test only had the one final boss: Nightlord Gladius, Beast of Night. If you were to subtract the number of times I defeated it, the number would be 58,615 times defeated. Which is to say, I defeated it exactly 0 times. Please swing in to the comments to tell me to “git gud.” It’s the only way I’ll improve. That said, the total number of runes lost amounted to 37,957,453,867. I definitely contributed to that.
Elden Ring Nightreign releases on May 30th, 2025, for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (Steam).
