Elden Ring Nightreign Network Test – Thoughts and Impressions

By Keith MitchellFebruary 18, 2025
Elden Ring Nightreign - Attack

After finally getting hands-on with the Elden Ring Nightreign Network Test over the past weekend, I have some reservations about the upcoming title—along with a few positives to highlight. Naturally, I wanted to get my thoughts out while they were fresh and put them into this video for anyone with questions about the game.

As someone who has played every FromSoftware game—from Demon’s Souls and all the Dark Souls titles to Bloodborne (which I even managed to Platinum, and I don’t even care about trophy), Sekiro, and finally Elden Ring—I’ve spent thousands of hours immersed in their worlds. Well, all but one game (can you guess which one?). With that history, I didn’t think Nightreign could surprise me. And yet, here we are, with FromSoft proving me wrong with its latest experiment, and let’s not kid ourselves because that’s what this is.

That said, I do have some frustrations, and I’m hoping the developer will address them before the full game is released. Lastly, I want to stress this talk is all about the network test. Given that there are three more months ahead of the release date, Fromsoft can easily make updates from the feedback it is being provided – You did fill out the survey from Bandai Namco, didn’t you?

Full thoughts and impressions in the video below.

Elden Ring Nightreign releases on May 30th, 2025, for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (Steam). And trust me, I am counting down the days until I get to play it again.
