As I’ve noted multiple times on the Nintendo Entertainment Podcast, there are plenty of big-name 3rd party titles that could come to the Nintendo Switch 2, and some of them would get my interest should they be ported. One of those titles is Marvel Rivals. The game has been straight-fire since its release last year, and many would absolutely love to play it on the go via Switch 2. The question becomes, “Will NetEase try to bring it to the platform?” The answer to that is that they MAY be working on it already.
This comes from a chat with IGN. Producer Weicong Wu was asked about a Nintendo Switch 2 port and noted:
“We’re already in contact with Nintendo and working on some development kits. And whenever we find that we could provide great performance for our game on Switch 2, we’re open to that. The reason why we didn’t launch it onto the Switch, it was the first generation of that device they cannot provide a great experience for our gameplay. So if it could achieve that goal, we’re open to that.”
While this ISN’T confirmation about the game being on Switch 2, it is interesting wording. Plus, it’s absolutely fair that they would want Marvel Rivals to play as well as possible on the platform because gameplay is what makes the title great in many respects. Could we get an announcement about it for Switch 2 this year? Only time, and NetEase, will tell…
