It’s hard to believe it’s almost been two weeks since the ending of Cobra Kai via the Season 6 Part 3 batch of episodes. As my review noted in many ways, THIS was how you handled a series finale, and it made me both smile and cry throughout. The way they “ended” the stories of Johnny, Daniel, Miguel, Tory, Robbie, and Sam was very heartfelt and clearly an indication of how far the team has worked with these characters to make them fully fleshed out. That being said, as my review teased and others noted online, not everything was “wrapped up perfectly.”
Thankfully, some long-time questions and more recent quandaries were answered by Cobra Kai showrunner Jon Hurwitz. For example, one person “issue” I had in the finale (spoilers ahead!!!) concerned the deaths of John Kreese and Terry Silver, and how Daniel and Johnny never acknowledged them or found out about them. What say you, Mr. Hurwitz?
**Spoilers**
I would imagine they eventually learned of Kreese and Silver’s deaths, but it would be impossible for them to know exactly what went down on that yacht. Johnny was already at peace with Kreese and both Johnny and Daniel knew that Silver was already dying. Most… https://t.co/RbhSgSxejT

That’s fair, and the “intent” of the scene was definitely carried out. It helped seal Kreese’s redemption and ensure that Johnny could finish his story without issue. Now, the OTHER “big question” that fans had was about the “one last big cameo” that the series never did. Specifically, despite ALL THE CALLBACKS to The Karate Kid’s main saga, we never got the return of Hilary Swank, who played Mr. Miyagi’s “other student,” Julie Pierce, in the 1994 film. Many expected her to show up by the end, but she never did. So…what say you, Mr. Hurwitz?
It wasn’t for lack of trying. We always loved the idea of Hilary Swank’s Julie Pierce showing up in Cobra Kai’s final episodes, but it wasn’t meant to be. We spoke with her reps several times, but never actually had the opportunity to speak directly with her. At the end of the… https://t.co/u0sFTvCfIx

That’s totally fair, too. the Cobra Kai crew were lucky to get all that they did for the series, and it helped bridge the gap between the films and the Netflix series. They were never going to get everyone, and that’s fine.
