As someone who spends a good portion of their time gaming and on the computer, it’s important to me to find a good keyboard. I’ve been through quite a few in my life, but I have come to love the C96 Keyboard from Mikit, as you’ll see from our C96 Dimension C Blue Keyboard review.
Name: C96 Dimension C Blue Keyboard
Manufacturer: Mikit
Price: $139.99 plus tax (available on Mikit Website)
As stated, I have had a few gaming and regular consumer keyboards over the years, so I would say I can feel a good keyboard when I have one. The aspects I look for in a good keyboard are input time, how well it types, its general feel, and the build’s sturdiness.
After testing this keyboard for roughly three months, a few things stand out to me. It is decently heavy; the typing aspect feels very nice, and the time it takes from input to response on screen is pleasantly quick. Along with an above-average price tag, the build quality reflects the price.
How the C96 Dimension C Blue Keyboard Feels
While it isn’t the most portable keyboard due to its weight, it is still a 96% keyboard with wireless capabilities, allowing for some portability. It does come with a charging cable, which can also be used as a direct connect cable. The key grouping is a little tight, but what can you expect with a 96% keyboard while still maintaining a number pad and keys like home, end, and insert?
As stated, it is a hefty weight, weighing in at around a pound. For the more stationary users, you’ll find that it isn’t prone to slipping and sliding like some of its lighter rivals, as this model comes equipped with height extension pads on the upper rear.
Build Quality
The overall build quality of the keyboard is good; sporting a smooth surface with slightly curved edges makes for an appealing look and an enjoyable typing experience. Made of sturdy plastic, the shell is not prone to bending or cracking while possessing a strong metal interior. You can expect a long lifespan for this keyboard.
The keycaps are also interchangeable, and while not being the easiest to remove, the device comes with a keycap-removing tool for the more difficult keys. So, it’s an easy starting point for the beginner trying to get into keyboard customization.
As well as the keycaps being interchangeable, this feature allows for easier cleaning of the keycaps and under the keycaps. While this device may be of a durable build, it is still recommended to use electronics-safe cleaning supplies with this device.
Is the C96 Dimension C Blue Keyboard worth it?
You can get this particular model on the website for $139.99 plus tax and shipping. So, in terms of price, it’s a fairly nice keyboard. While on the more expensive side compared to other more common consumer keyboards, with the Mikit keyboard, you are getting what you paid for.
While being heavy, it is smaller in form than most other keyboards. While portability is more awkward with this keyboard, it is still small enough to fit into most backpacks or bags for transport. It’s paired nicely with both wired and Bluetooth. It’s easy to clean and customize. If you’re looking for a quality keyboard, then look no further.
