Assassin’s Creed Mirage is the latest title in the hit franchise. Unlike the previous three titles, this new Assassin’s Creed title has gone back to its roots that the fans have been longing for years! Set in the 9th century Bagdad, the main protagonist of the game is Basim, a street thief-turned-assassin whose journey will take you through the bustling streets of Bagdad to deserts around the city. In this article, we’ll go through all the basic guides and tips you’ll need to start your journey smoothly in Assassin’s Creed Mirage.
Before we get into the small details, you should also know that the story of Assassin’s Creed Mirage is very straightforward. It saves plenty of hours by not showing unnecessary dialogues. You’ll be given quests, more than one at a time and you can finish them one by one at your pace. There are literally no side quests except the contracts which are clearly distinguishable.
1. The Combat In Assassin’s Creed Mirage Is Stealth-Focused
Once you are familiar with the movements and basic controls, the first thing you need to know is that there is a massive difference in combat, compared to Odyssey or Valhalla. Unlike the previous titles, your approach needs to be stealth-focused. You just can’t become Rambo and kill everyone without proper planning, even on the easy difficulty. So make sure to learn how to combat basics diligently.
2. There Is No Level But Hidden One Rank
Assassin’s Creed Mirage has removed the RPG level system and brought in a much simpler Hidden One Rank. However, the only way to increase the Hidden One rank is to complete the quests in the main storyline. The ranks are – Initiate, Apprentice, Novice, Disciple, Assassin, and Master.
3. Eagle Is Going To Be A Lifesaver
Your eagle, Enkidu, is going to help a lot in this game. As usual, for scouting you’ll be using the eagle a lot more and also the eagle vision will help in recognizing the things around you, be it the objective or the enemies. The eagle vision also helps in finding the NPCs for pickpocketing. So use the bird to get ahead of the game! However, in some areas where there’s an archer at the top of the buildings or walls, you will not be able to use the eagle to scout. In these cases, you can use the photo mode to see as much as possible. Once you take down the archer, you’ll be able to use the eagle.
4. Spend Resources Wisely To Upgrade Your Equipment
Unlike Valhalla, you do not upgrade the equipment slot where the progress is moved to the newly set equipment. Resources are scarce and you will find it hard to find sufficient items to upgrade your equipment unless you particularly farm these items and spend coins on buying them from the shop. So invest in the gears that you aim to use in the long term. You’ll also see a white arrow on the equipment box when an upgrade is available.
5. Master The Art Of Pickpocketing
As you explore the city of Bagdad, you’ll realise how important it is to master the technique of pickpocketing. You can turn on the confirmed pickpocketing from the game settings which will help a lot in this. And its is the best way to get free coins, shards, Dervis’ artifacts, other currencies, and many more! Also, one thing to note, find the richer area of the map where you’ll find high-value items from pickpocketing.
6. Explore The Tools And Pick The One That Suits Your Playstyle
In Assassins Creed Mirage, you’ll get to choose from a bunch of tools such as throwing knives, blow darts, noise bombs etc to help you assist in combat. Not all of them are for everyone, so pick yours wisely that suits your playstyle. Like I said earlier, the combat in this game is very stealth-focused so these tools are going to play a key role in cleaning up your way to the quest objective. You can upgrade them with items to make them more useful and of course.
7. Keep The Notoriety Meter Low To Avoid Unnecessary Attention
A high notoriety can interrupt exploration and get unwanted attention from the NPCs and guards. Keep a low profile and do your job in silence. Try not to kill in front of any NPCs, otherwise, the heat in the meter will rise, making it tougher for you to explore. Sometimes, taking out your sword in public places can also give the notoriety a jump. And to avoid these, you can take down posters (for free!) to bring the notoriety meter down. Or, you can always visit the Munadi and give him a Power Token to clean it up for you.
8. Sell Trinkets For Some Extra Cash
You’ll find Trinkets inside your inventory and these items are not useful for you except making you some free bucks. So when you visit a shop, make sure to sell all of them (under the selling page) to help you earn some money for investing in other things.
Hopefully, these basic tips will help you to get a headstart in Assassin’s Creed Mirage.
