During the Star Wars Battlefront II unveiling, there was a bit of confusion (that I mentioned earlier) regarding the offline co-op mode. It seems that somehow it was originally stated that this would be a Xbox-exclusive, but was quickly amended. Meaning that the co-op mode will indeed come to both the Xbox One and PlayStation.
However, this also means that for you (and me) PC gamers, you’re out of luck. EA has confirmed that the co-op mode is console-exclusive and that it will not be available on PC.
My take on the matter
I can’t even begin to understand why this feature was dropped for the PC. Especially since both online and offline co-op/split screen has really taken off for the platform. I’d hate to think that EA has this mentality that PC gamers merely sit at desks, hunched over looking at a monitor. Yet, this is exactly the feeling I’m getting from this.
Meanwhile, I’m playing PC games on the very same 4K TV that I play my Xbox One and PS4 Pro on. With both a Xbox One and Dual Shock 4 controller, I might at. I can only hope that either EA changes their mind, or that someone *manages* to get the co-op mode working. I don’t care which.
Star Wars Battlefront II releases on November 17th, 2017, for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
