CD Projekt RED has announced that the technical beta for Gwent: The Witcher Card Game will be live for PS4 players this weekend. Gwent was a fully playable card game within The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and it will soon get a standalone release. All PS4 players may take advantage of the free beta by downloading it tomorrow via the PlayStation Store. The technical beta will be live from Friday, March 31st to Monday, April 4th. During the beta, players will be able to create decks and have online matches. CD Projekt is encouraging your feedback on Gwent during the beta and wishes to test the game’s ability on the PS4 with a large group of players.
An official release date has yet to be shared. In addition to PS4, Gwent will also have an Xbox One and PC release.
In other CD Projekt news, they have revealed financial results for 2016 and for the Witcher Trilogy. From the release of the first game in 2007 through 2016, the Witcher games have sold 25 million copies combined. CD Projekt is quite pleased with these numbers, and they plan on continuing to support the Witcher brand with the release of Gwent.
