    Actor Bill Paxton Dies at Age 61

    Actor and director Bill Paxton passed away on Sunday, February 26, 2017. According to the family representative who broke the news to the press, it was due to complications of surgery, though what the surgery was for is still unknown.

    Paxton began his career in the mid-80s, working small parts on films like Terminator and Aliens before making it big with films like Twister and Apollo 13. He is also know for his long TV career, including HBO’s Big Love, and his Emmy-nominated work in History Channel’s Hatfields and McCoys. Paxton was set to star in CBS’s recently premiered police drama, Training Day, but how this will affect the production, no one from the network has said yet.

    As a critic, it’s almost hard to place why Paxton had such screen presence and charisma. A down-to-Earth, quiet man who always seems to be able to dominate a situation with just a change in stance or tone. He only even won one Golden Globe in his expansive career, which seems like such a shame, given all he worked for and all the work he had left to do.

    He is survived by his wife of more than 30 years, Louise Newbury, and his two children, James and Lydia.
