They rock the colors blue, black, red, yellow and white, who just happen to be superheroes. Only, these guys are no Power Rangers, far it. Instead, they’re a team of stuntmen who decided open up their own film studio and thus the Chroma Squad was born. In Chroma Squad, you play as the team’s manager and responsible for things such as hiring new actions, purchasing cameras and all the stuff an actual manager needs to take care of. It’s your job to make sure the team succeeds.
BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment America Inc. today announces the tactical role-playing game Chroma Squad, inspired by Saban’s Power Rangers™, will launch on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in May 2017.
In Chroma Squad players take control of five high-flying stunt actors who decide to quit their day jobs and create their own Power Rangers TV show.
First released in April 2015 and developed by Brazilian indie developer Behold Studios, Chroma Squad is also currently available for PCs on STEAM™. With the game’s spring release on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment America Inc. confirms that these platforms, and STEAM™, will be the featured platforms for Chroma Squad and the game will no longer be available for the PlayStation Vita handheld system.
This game was actually funded on Kickstarter for the PC and is inspired by Saban’s Power Rangers (obviously). It was developed by Brazilian Indie company, Behold Studios. The title has actually been around since 2015, however, Bandai Namco has gotten involved with the game and is bringing it to the Xbox One and PC. Sadly, while a PS Vita version was also announced, it has since been canceled. The game isn’t an action title, but a tactical RPG, similar to Disgaea.
To be honest, I’m glad to see that Bandai Namco is bringing this game over, as it’s definitely a lot of fun. Easily of the better Indie Games of 2015 and now Xbox and PlayStation gamers will get a chance to experience it. If you like zany, just extremely fun and throughout out titles, give Chroma Squad a look when it’s released on consoles. Or just get it now, on PC.
