One of the most hyped and anticipated games of the modern era of gaming has gone gold. As NintendoToday reports that a wrap party was held for The Legend of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild.
For the record, “Gone Gold” is a term in the industry for when the game is finished enough to be production of the disks on which they’ll be sold. And the disk that is given from the developer to the manufacturer is gold. Hence the title.
Nintendo fans will no doubt be singing this news from the mountaintops, because Breath of the Wild has been in development for a LONG time, and by the end of it, 300 people in multiple studios under Nintendo were working on this game. Including Eiji Aonuma, Shigeru Miyamoto, and part of the team from Monolith Soft. Thus showing the time, effort, and quality that was trying to be put into it.
During last months Nintendo Switch reveal event, everyone was waiting for the announcement of when Breath of the Wild would be released, and thankfully, we got the answer that it is a launch title for the upcoming Nintendo Switch on March 3rd.
There’s so much hype for this game its unbearable. We know it’s huge, so huge in fact that you apparently won’t be able to 100% complete it in a week. As you can see in the trailer above, it’s got a deep story, one that’ll involve numerous characters, and again put a big emphasis on the relationship between Link and Zelda.
But as in all things, the proof will be in the pudding when we get our hands on Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild for Nintendo Switch, and Wii U, on March 3rd.
