Xbox head also states that games shipping this year won’t be “Halo FPS/Gears led.”
Phil Spencer was on a tweeting spree over the last two days, making some announcements regarding upcoming titles on the Xbox brand. One of those announcements was related to the Windows 10 version of Resident Evil VII: biohazard, with Spencer indicating earlier today that the game will officially be part of the Xbox Play Anywhere initiative:
RESIDENT EVIL 7 biohazard confirmed for @Xbox Play Anywhere – buy once, play on both Xbox One & @Windows 10 PC. https://t.co/yhcwjEnjla
— Phil Spencer (@XboxP3) January 18, 2017
This marks the first third-party title to hit the Xbox Play Anywhere initiative. Masachika Kawata also confirmed in late December that Resident Evil VII: biohazard had been optimized for 1080p60 support on Xbox One, with HDR support on the Xbox One S. Initially, the game was slated to support cross-save functionality between the Windows 10 and Xbox One versions of the game.
In addition, Spencer also indicated that the Xbox One lineup for 2017 will be different and unique. In a response to a user on Twitter, the head of Xbox had the following to say:
XB1 games shipping this year are different for us. not Halo FPS/Gears led, new experiences with different IP, will be fun year

Whether this leads to new IPs being announced during E3 2017 or before, is yet to be determined, but knowing Phil Spencer, pleasant surprises are never far behind.
