Code Geass held their 10th anniversary event on Sunday. It was there that it was announced that the series will be receiving a third anime season that will act as a sequel to R2. The third season will be entitled Code Geass: Fukkatsu no Lelouch (Code Geass: Lelouch of the Resurrection) and will take place several years after Lelouch’s Zero Requiem plan.
In addition to the third season, three Code Geass films were announced which will compile all 50 episodes from the anime series. The original cast is being brought back for the films where they will re-record all of their lines from the original series! The first film is slated to open sometime in 2017.

The first episode debuted in Japan with a theatrical screening in 2012, and the fifth and final episode opened in theaters in Japan on February 6. Funimation licensed the series in 2013, and premiered it at a screening at Otakon in August. The company will release the entire series on home video in early 2017.
