Indie Spotlight: NAIRI

Meet Nairi!

HomeBearStudio’s NAIRI offers a little something for all gamers, casual and hardcore alike, to enjoy.  NAIRI focuses on an upper-class girl, Nairi, who gets separated from her family. While in the slums of Shirin, she befriends a rat, Rex, who is a scholar with a criminally rich past. Together, they must uncover the dark mysteries surrounding the city of Shirin and it’s animal inhabitants.

This game is not only a point and click adventure, but offers a variety of ways to unlock the games secrets. You are able to make decisions that will affect your gameplay and interactions with the other citizens of Shirin, and therefore creating different endings. And Zelda fans will enjoy the dungeons full of puzzles waiting to be solved.

Meet HomeBearStudio!

HomeBearStudio is small, development studio started in July 2016 and  based in the Netherlands. Josh, the main developer and composer, and You, the artist, are extremely focused on creating family friendly games with compelling stories and gameplay. For NAIRI, they were inspired by stories like Toy Story and Spirited Away that are family friendly but handle more mature themes.

NAIRI is the teams first commercial game but more importantly: their passion project. They have spent the last few months lovingly planning Nairi’s journey and the world of Shirin. NAIRI is sure to deliver on all things important to HomeBearStudio. They wanted to pass this message along to all of you indie lovers:

Above all else, we want people to know that we’re doing all we can to bring some quality entertainment your way; that we’re trustworthy and serious about this. And, of course, we want to thank all of you reading this for your interest in us and NAIRI.
We appreciate it!

Final Thoughts

NAIRI‘s Kickstarter is in full swing and still, has a few days left! They have almost reached their goal, and there are more than 10 different donation levels to choose from. So, if you’re interested, hop over to their Kickstarter and see what you can do to make their dreams a reality! It’s obvious that there is a lot of love and thought put into the creation of Nairi, her friends, and the world that they inhabit. With adorable visuals and interesting puzzles, NAIRI shows lots of promise and I can’t wait to see what’s in store!

Shelby has a deep love for gaming, anime, literature, margaritas, corgis, and all things nerdy. Her earliest memories include playing Super Mario World on the SNES with her aunt. Since then, her love of gaming has grown and she has come to accept all systems as equals. She is so excited to combine her two greatest passions: gaming and writing. Shelby is working towards an English degree at THE Ohio State University, and enjoys playing games like God of War and Uncharted when she isn't writing essays. Fun Fact, I didn't play Pokemon or read Harry Potter until I was 16; 16 was a good year! Stay Gold! <3
