If I’ve been asked one questions, perhaps more than “What’s up?” in recent days, it’s been “Do you know the dates for PAX East 2017?”. Typically I just shrug and tell people that I don’t know, but now the next time someone asks me, I can firmly tell them that I do. Over at the official PAX website, the dates for PAX East 2017 have been posted and they are March 10th – 12th, 2017.
PAX East is the largest gaming convention on the North American East Coast. Full of games, tons of cool people, board games, toys and much more. I’ve been to 5 PAX East events so far, the last two for this website and they’ve always been fun. Can’t wait for PAX East 2017 to come around – Assuming we can get tickets.
Update: That rumor is rumor no more. ReedPop has confirmed that this is 100% legit via a post at the PAX East website (here).
Finally you might have noticed that we will be doing away with 3-Day badges, similar to what we have done on PAX West. When looking over the data, we saw that people were buying 3-Day badges but not using them for the full weekend. By switching exclusively to single days, we can help ensure that every sold badge actually gets used by fans who want them and increase the individual number of fans who get to experience the show.
Speaking of which, there’s a rumor making the rounds that may actually be legit. Word is that this upcoming event will be the first time that 3-day passes won’t be a thing and won’t be sold. That means everyone will need to purchase individual passes at a higher price. The official site has them listed as $53 per day! That’s $150+ per person, $300+ if you’re taking a friend (or wife). I really hope this isn’t true or at the very least that those prices are just placeholders.
I’m going to go out on a limb guess that the tickets for PAX East 2017 can’t be too far behind. We have the dates now, so tickets and then hotel? Oh, it’s going to be frantic out there fairly soon. Stay safe, fellow gamers!
