When 2K Games and Hanger 13 released Mafia III onto the PC, it was done so with a locked 30 frames per second. Obviously, this didn’t sit well with the PC gaming community and between that and a bunch of other bugs, Mafia III was targeted as being a sloppy port. Over the weekend, 2K Games and Hanger 13 announced that a patch was being worked on that would address the 30 fps concerns and it would be released during the weekend. Well, that patch was released as of last night, per their tweet via Twitter.
PC players: our patch that includes 30, 60 & unlimited fps options will go live at 3PM PT.

Over at the Mafia II website, they posted the following regarding patch 1.01 as well;
UPDATE PC players, reboot Mafia III because patch 1.01 is now available for download. This patch includes 30, 60, and unlimited frames-per-second options on PC. To select your framerate, just head to the display menu in-game. Just make sure to tailor the framerate settings to the power of your machine. This patch also includes improvements to keyboard remapping, so head to the controls menu to check out the options. Note: this patch resets keyboard mapping to default, so any changes you made to the controls previously will need to be customized after installing the patch.
While we still haven’t picked up Mafia III to review on PC, it seems that others are reporting they are having issues trying to hit 6o FPS, even on some high-end systems. Some are reporting that the game hits 60 fps, only to average between 45-55, others can’t go past 40 fps and others still aren’t able to run the game to launcher crashes.
Seems that Mafia III has more issues that just frame rate concerns that need to be addressed. Though, I’ll give kudos to Hanger 13 for busted out that fps patch so fast. Now they need to address the other most important concerns, so people can play the game.
