During E3 2016, the makers of The Witcher series, CD Projekt RED, announced that they would be launching a closed beta for Gwent. Not wanting to release a half-baked title, they have decided to push back the date for the closed beta. Originally it was slated to start in September but now will start on October 25, 2016.
If you haven’t signed up for the closed beta, you can do so by pointing your browser over to https://www.playgwent.com/en/signup. The beta is open for registration on the Xbox One and PC, currently.
Gwent is the card game that was so popular in The Witcher 3. Many people ignored the game, including myself, just to play around with Gwent and CD Projekt RED took notice and started working on a full blown version of Gwent. I totally respect that decision, we need more developers and companies releasing that releasing a sub-par title does nothing but hurt the brand they worked so hard on.
