The first of three planned premium DLC’s for DOOM has been released. Entitled “Unto the Evil”, this newly released DLC adds onto the multiplayer portion of the game. You can pick up this DLC for $14.99, or for free if you already own the DOOM Season Pass.
Unto the Evil brings three new diverse maps to DOOM multiplayer: Offering, Cataclysm, and Ritual. In addition, the DLC adds the UAC EMG Pistol as a new weapon, the Kinetic Mine as new equipment, the Harvester as a new playable demon, new armor sets, patterns, colors, and taunts, as well as new hack modules.
id Software is also introducing the PartyPlay system, which allows anyone to play any of the new maps from Unto the Evil, as long as you party up with a friend who owns the DLC
If you’re looking to add some oomph for your DOOM multiplayer sessions, then this DLC may be right up your alley. However, if you’re still holding out for that story driven DLC, you may want to pass on this.
