Capcom’s latest patch for Street Fighter V, patch 1.04 or better known as “A Shadow Falls” is now out for the PlayStation 4 and PC. With the new update comes the addition of two new stages (Vegas and Kanzuki Family Private Beach) , new costumes, changes to the matchmaking mode, two new characters (Balrog and Ibuki) and more importantly, the cinematic story mode. Yes, the very same one that should have been included at the launch of Street Fighter V.
“The Street Fighter V cinematic story expansion is divided into five acts and takes place between Street Fighter IV and Street Fighter III, bridging the events that happen in between the two stories. “A Shadow Falls,” depicts the ultimate battle between the evil Shadaloo organization and the heroic World Warriors who rise up against them. As the story unfolds, players will enter battles using each of the core 16 characters, in addition to the 6 (released and unreleased) 2016 DLC characters, each with their own unique contribution to the epic clash. “A Shadow Falls” is free content available to all players and it marks the first time in franchise history that consumers will be able to play through this type of cinematic experience in a Street Fightergame. The epic battle between good and evil begins soon… who will RISE UP?”
This update is free for everyone and is a separate update for both the PS4 and PC. You must head over to the PS Network Store or Steam to download the cinematic story mode or it will be absent from the game AND this must be done after the first part of the patch is already downloaded. So long into Street Fighter V first and get the 1.04 update then head over to PSN or Steam to get the story mode. And yes, it is very confusing.
So bust out that copy of Street Fighter V, there’s a new reason to get back into it!
