The heavily rumored remaster, Skyrim Special Edition, is officially on the way, confirmed this evening at Bethesda’s E3 press conference.
The game will sport technical features such as volumetric lighting, god rays, spacial reflection and depth of field. There has also been a remastering of the original artwork and effects. Like the recently released Fallout 4, mods will now be available to use on consoles as well. While not officially stated at the conference, it should be safe to assume that the original game’s DLC will be included.
Skyrim Special Edition will be available on PS4, Xbox One and PC on October 28, 2016.
UPDATE: The Special Edition will be offered as a free upgrade for owners of both the original game and all DLC on PC, according to Bethesda’s twitter account.
