Wolfenstein: The New Order was a hallmark in the first person shooter genre for its seamless blending of retro and modern sensibilities, and fortunately, it seems that lighting has a chance to strike twice.
Alicja Bachleda-Curuś, the voice actress for Anya Oliwa (B.J. Blazkowicz’s love interest in The New Order) was recently interviewed and told the following to Polish television station TVN:
“I’m working on a video game, first part of which I have already made. Now we’re making a second one, which will take two more years.
“I played this game as a child. I was very happy when I got to the point where I could shoot Hitler.”
There is no mistaking what she means by this; a new Wolfenstein is in the works, and if Alicja’s (and presumably by extension the devs) projection is correct, we could see a new Wolfenstein in 2017.
