Careful if you’re far along in Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. It’s a long and massive game but there’s a bug corrupting save files in some later missions, halting player progression.
Spoilers for a specific buddy you can get in the game ahead. You probably already know, but just in case…
Konami issued an announcement today stating the bug in question:
In METAL GEAR SOLID V: THE PHANTOM PAIN which was released on September 1st, 2015 there is a possibility that the game stops progress if having Quiet as a buddy while playing “Mission 29” or “Mission 42“. This situation can be avoided by not using Quiet as a buddy while playing either “Mission 29” or “Mission 42”.
I’ve put in about 25 hours so far on Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain and I love it. Hopefully not too many players are affected by this bug now that it’s out in the open, and here’s hoping Konami gets a fix out there soon.
