The Los Angeles based the Walking Dead companion show Fear the Walking Dead has finally gotten a trailer release, courtesy of the San Diego Comic Con. At least the first season will take place before its parent show, as Fear explores the dead rising and the resulting collapse of civilization, whereas The Walking Dead briefly explored the topic.
The Los Angeles location will cause a bit more trouble than our original gang in backwoods Georgia. The trailer gives us glimpses of people figuring out that walkers can’t be taken down by shots to the body, and how everyday people either rise to the occasion or buckle under the pressure when others are in need.
The show stars Kim Dickens as Madison Clark, a high school counselor, Cliff Curtis as Travis Manawa, a high school teacher. Alongside the two will be family and other survivors they meet. Among them are Frank Dillane and Alycia Debnam-Carey will play Nick and Alicia Clark respectively, children to Kim Dickens’ character.
Fear the Walking Dead‘s freshman season will consist of 6 episodes, premiering on August 23rd at 9/8c on AMC. The show has also been picked up for a second season to air in 2016.
