Not many turn-based tactical RPGs make it to the United States, so when one does make it, it has to be good, right?
Well, take the premise for Lost Dimension for a ride and tell us what you think: You’re one of 11 psychic gifted warriors known as ‘S.E.A.L.E.D.,’ fated with defending the world from an extraterrestrial force known simply as ‘The End.’ The catch? ‘The End’ wants you to eliminate all your teammates, one of which is a traitor, and you must figure it out before it’s too late.
Lost Dimension takes elements from tactical RPGs such as Valkyria Chronicles and peppers in visual novel elements to create an experience where every choice you make impacts the overall story. It is the story of 18 year old Sho Kasugai, a member of the United Nations-founded group S.E.A.L.E.D., a secret service-type group enlisted to investigate the appearance of a mysterious pillar, as a extraterrestrial madman simply known as ‘The End’ attempts to bring about the end of the world. Sho, and 10 others in S.E.A.L.E.D. have to investigate this pillar and stop ‘The End’ from ending the world.
However, one of Sho’s team members is a traitor, and Sho must use his ability, ‘Vision,’ to determine the traitor before they get to the top, and with every floor, one member of S.E.A.L.E.D. gets eliminated, and whoever is left might make your battle with ‘The End’ that much harder.
Also, the traitor is changed with every playthrough of the game, adding to the mystery of this game.
Lost Dimension, from Lancarse Games, will be releasing on North American PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita systems in Summer 2015. The PlayStation Vita version is compatible with the PlayStation TV and will retail for $39.99/CAD$49.99
