Capcom, a leading worldwide developer and publisher of video games, announced the release of Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate for Nintendo 3DS. The game is compatible with all of the Nintendo 3DS family of handheld systems including the New Nintendo 3DS™ which also released today. Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate can be purchased at retail and also as a digital download in the Nintendo eShop across North America and Europe.
Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate is the biggest and most accessible entry yet in the popular Monster Hunter™ series, which has sold more than 31 million units worldwide to date. Players take on the role of a hunter that joins up with a travelling caravan to explore new lands and combat ferocious enemies in pursuit of the ultimate hunt. This grand adventure includes hundreds of quests that yield valuable resources used for weapons and equipment. To aid players in their epic battles, the game offers two new weapon classes (for a total of 14), expanded actions and dynamic vertical gameplay including a new monster riding mechanic.
Players can enjoy a robust single player experience or join up to three other hunters locally or, for the first time, online using a wireless broadband Internet connection. Hunters across North America, Europe and Oceania can team up with each other in these local or online play options. For those playing Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate on the New Nintendo 3DS XL system, they can experience enhanced graphics, C-stick functionality and customizable ZL and ZR buttons.
A free downloadable Starter Pack will be available in-game for a limited time starting today through March 15 which includes useful items to assist players as they start their hunting journey. The items include a variety of potions, bombs and traps as well as Super Mushrooms which provide early access to the Mario™ or Luigi™ gear for the Felyne Palico companions. More information on accessing the Starter Pack and unlocking the gear is available at Capcom-Unity. In addition, fans that purchase the digital version of the game on Nintendo eShop through March 15 will receive a bonus download code for a free “MH4U Gore & Seregios” theme that can be used to customize the Nintendo 3DS system’s HOME Menu background.
