3rd party support will be a key factor in the Nintendo Switch 2’s success. Sure, it won’t be the only factor, as 1st party titles are obviously the biggest thing overall, but don’t knock the other developers coming in and doing their best with both ports and exclusive titles. The Switch 2 has a rather robust opening lineup of titles for when the system drops in June, and key among them is Cyberpunk 2077. While the game may be synonymous with its infamous launch and what followed, it’s proudly rebounded and is respected by many today. So, it coming to the Switch 2 is a big deal.
To that end, CD Projekt Red got to talk about both the game and the Switch 2 port in a special “Creator’s Voice” video that dropped today, and they revealed some new details about the Switch 2 version. For example, you can use the Joy-Cons to control weapons, including using one to wield a katana. They also praise the mobility of it all and feel that this allows for “new experiences” to be felt as you play it.
CD Projekt Red Vice President of Technology, Charles Tremblay says that Switch 2 is the best way to experience Cyberpunk 'on the go'.
