Earlier in March 2025, Capcom revealed that Monster Hunter Wilds had sold over 8 million copies in three days. Now, with March 2025 at a close, Capcom has announced that its flagship monster-hunting title has surpassed 10 million copies.
While that may suggest the momentum is slowing down, I expect things to pick up with the first update for Monster Hunter Wilds, which will introduce a returning monster, Mizutsune, and the game’s first Arch-tempered hunt for Rey Dau. The Grand Hub, a new in-game settlement where players can gather and communicate, will finally be implemented. Additionally, players will be able to repeatedly hunt Zoh Shia to craft some amazing looking gear, and the return of the Arena Quests. This update is set for release on April 4th, 2025.
So, as you can see, there’s a lot happening for Monster Hunter Wilds, and Capcom has pledged to continue releasing updates. I just hope it also addresses the performance issues that are still plaguing the game.
I’ve personally clocked over 200 hours in Monster Hunter Wilds, and I’ve been having a blast. I’m looking forward to more updates to the game and even more monsters being added, including Bezelgeuse. Speaking of which, Capcom has already teased the next monster to be added to the game, and while newcomers to the series may not know what it is, long-time fans recognized that this monster was the water-based encounter, Lagiacrus.
