Can you feel the anticipation? We hope so, as the Nintendo Switch 2 will have its first Nintendo Direct in less than 4 weeks. That’s important for various reasons. One, we only know about one game that’ll be on it: Mario Kart. Two, the Direct will also likely reveal the release date and the price for the console, which many people want. Finally, it’ll be the final bit of “major hype” that will likely send gamers into a frenzy to get the console right away. That’s something Nintendo has likely been hoping on and planning for over these last several months.
The only question is, “How many units will it sell right off the bat?” According to one analyst, he feels (should the Nintendo Switch 2 come out in July) that the system could move six million units in just its first quarter!
Toyo Securities Analyst Hideki Yasuda expects Switch 2 to shift 6m units in it's first quarter.
He says it would be an incredible number and shatter the superstition that consoles need to launch during the holiday period.

That would indeed be impressive. The OG Switch had an impressive first year, too, but that was partially hindered by shortages due to overwhelming demand. Many think The Big N has postponed the Switch 2’s release so that it could have plenty of units to move in the first quarter and beyond. The clock is ticking, and we’ll get our answer soon enough…
