Poogie, the lovable pig, has been a staple in the Monster Hunter franchise for quite some time, and many have wondered if it will appear in Monster Hunter Wilds. Thankfully, the answer is yes—Poogie can be found in Monster Hunter Wilds.
However, unlike previous games, Poogie isn’t available at the start or even shortly after. Instead, it won’t appear until much later in the game.
Where to Find Poogie in Monster Hunter Wilds
It seems like Capcom wanted players to earn the chance to pet Poogie, placing the pig much further into the game compared to previous titles. I didn’t encounter Poogie until I reached a location closer to the end of the main story—a village called Suja.
There’s also a difference in Monster Hunter Wilds: while you can still name Poogie, you can’t dress him up like in Monster Hunter World or Monster Hunter Rise.
Once you arrive in Suja and enter the village, you’ll find Poogie wandering around.
Just like in other Monster Hunter games, you can pet Poogie, and if you succeed in the mini-game, Poogie will reward you. To do this, simply choose to pet Poogie again, and the mini-game will begin.
When a pink exclamation point appears, press the pet button again. If timed correctly, you’ll win the mini-game, and Poogie will do a happy dance before rewarding you with a random item.
Keep in mind that this action has a cooldown, so you can’t spam it.
