It was previously announced that Manga Library Z would be ceasing all operations; however, that doesn’t seem to be the case any longer. The company is aiming at making a comeback and this time they are seeking crowdfunding to do so.
Manga Library Z is a digital platform that publishes rare out-of-print manga for free. On Monday of this week, the company changed its name to Kaette Kuru Manga Toshokan Z, or Manga Toshokan Z Will Return. On Wednesday, they launched a crowdfunding campaign on Motion Gallery with the goal of raising ¥3 million ($20,000).
As of now, they have raised ¥1,279,055 ($8,300). The campaign is poised to end on April 1. Ken Akamatsu (mangaka for Love Hina, Negima, UQ Holder) founded the site in 2011.
