When Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics was announced by Capcom in 2024, many fans immediately noticed the absence of an Xbox release. Instead, the game was set to launch on PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC on September 12, 2024, leaving Xbox fighting game fans understandably frustrated, but due to technical reasons, it was understood. Then, of course, Capcom released that doing so was a mistake and vowed to make things right, and today they have.
Capcom has finally addressed this issue. During the Capcom Spotlight event on February 4, 2025, the company announced that Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics is now available on Xbox. While it’s a digital-only release, it at least ensures that Xbox players no longer feel left out.
The collection includes seven classic games:
- The Punisher
- X-Men: Children of the Atom
- Marvel Super Heroes
- X-Men vs. Street Fighter
- Marvel Super Heroes vs. Street Fighter
- Marvel vs. Capcom: Clash of the Super Heroes
- Marvel vs. Capcom 2: New Age of Heroes
We reviewed Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics and found it to be an excellent effort by Capcom, despite the lack of crossplay. Every game is arcade-perfect, with no missing features, plenty of fan service, and rollback netcode for smooth online play.
So, there you have it, Xbox fans—it may have taken a while, but the wait is finally over!
