In the Evo Las Vegas 2025 presentation event last night, hosted by FGC commentators Rynge and Jaidlyn, the new roster of other tournaments was revealed last night. With what we already know about the main stages being covered, the side courses were also revealed.
Weird half-cringe skits, developer shoutouts, other FGC stars such as Maximilian and maybe 120 seconds or so of Viscious making appearances, and random gaming on the streets of France, aside, the information given sounds like a good run for some new, slightly older, and recent releases.
Side tournaments will include:
- Rivals of Aether II
- Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O
- THE KING OF FIGHTERS XV
- BlazBlue CentralFiction
- Killer Instinct
- ????????????
- ????????????
As KOF XV loses its’ spot as the SNK representative for the new Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves’ debut, it gets pushed to a side tournament to keep it still in the running. The game will be with last year’s DLC dynamic “demonic secretary of the Orochi” duo Vice and Mature “helping out”… sort of. Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. will be here, coming back into play in the West after its’ hiatus with the 2.0 new balance patch. Smash-like Rivals of Aether II and Arc System Works’ BlazBlue CentralFiction will be joining.
Killer Instinct (Remake), which received a hefty balance patch in 2023 to mark its 10-year anniversary, will return, also. Dragon Ball FighterZ will remain at Evo France 2025 for now. The second new tournament, Evo Singapore, was also mentioned, but no further details have been revealed yet at the time of this writing.
Surprisingly, 2XKO and HunterXHunter NenXImpact were not discussed at length, with the latter not being spoken about at all. However, two mystery spots were present, so this could mean that more games will be coming. Tag fighting games be damned.
Evo Las Vegas will take place August 1-3 this year at the Las Vegas Convention Centre.
