If you are a collector of controllers like myself, or maybe you just want a Christmas gift for that gamer in your family. Helldivers 2 has got you covered, assuming you can perform a Christmas miracle that is. Last week, when talking about the update coming soon to Helldivers 2, PlayStation announced the release of a Helldivers 2-themed limited edition Dualsense controller. And it is a looker.
The Helldivers 2 Limited Edition Dualsense will be available in limited quantities for $84.99 / €84.99 / £74.99. Pre-orders start on December 20, 2024, for those in countries where PlayStation Direct is available, it sounds like that might be the only place you can get this great-looking controller. With this being the case. you can expect this to be a repeat of the Astro Bot Limited Edition controller and will likely sell out quickly.
For those countries that don’t have access to PlayStation Direct, this controller will be available at participating retailers, set to be released on February 6, 2025. The exact launch date and availability for the controller may vary by country/region.
As someone who collects controllers. I have yet to pick up any of the limited edition Dualsense designs, mainly because they haven’t impressed me. The one that I would have liked was Astro Bot but that was gone too quickly.
I may make an attempt to get this Helldivers 2 controller, as there is something about the black and yellow color scheme I love. For me, this is the best-limited edition design dualsense outside of the 30th anniversary controller.
Speaking of the 30th-anniversary consoles and controllers. I have a word of warning about PlayStation Direct. Make sure you won’t need to change your card details on the order later. Earlier this year I managed to order a PS5 Slim 30th Anniversary Console (albeit after first having the pro bundle in my basket only for scalpers to steal it). The problem was that when it came time to pay for my PS5 Slim 30th Anniversary, I needed to change the payment card due to unforeseen circumstances.
However, when trying to do this with a card that I knew was good and had the money on that I had saved up. PlayStation Direct just kept giving me errors and wouldn’t let me change the card, after a few days of trying with a couple of different cards I had no option but to cancel the order.
This wasn’t the first time I have had an issue with PlayStation Direct. So, here’s hoping that you don’t run into any issues if you do decide to buy the Helldivers 2 Limited Edition Dualsense.
