Namco Bandai released the new Clive Rosenfield gameplay for Tekken 8 in the middle of The Game Awards. Clive comes in with his sword the only way the shield of Rosaria ever can. He keeps that range with the sword. The hero of Final Fantasy XVI will be coming to the King of Iron Fist Tournament next as the 4th Season 1 fighter. Clive isn’t alone, though. He’ll be bringing his best friend with him to help. It’s literally Kazumi all over again.
The Phoenix Gate was predicted to be the battlegrounds for the Clive stage for Tekken 8. Ifirit and Phoenix do get a bit of a face off in the background. The location has several significant events for Clive, in which one of them is when him and Ifirit first somewhat meet.
One hit into the borders and Phoenix will hit the target with fire to blow the area up for a launcher. The scene possibly changes on the 3rd round with the circle of fire and Ifrit’s mirror match after Ifrit and Phoenix rip each other apart. Namco’s been the masters of inviting guests to their fighters since Smash Bros Ultimate and Soulcalibur VI.
Clive is using some of the powers of the Eikons with his attacks as well as Torgal – his trusty dog. Unlike Secret of Evermore, Clive’s trusty dog party member is hella brutal with follow-ups. Titan’s punch feels as though it gets armor on striking. Shiva’s ice to help with a good OTG move and some Eikon Garuda strikes. The wings are out in a bit to match Kazuya and Jin’s Devil wings. His beam from her attack is good staple.
Clive’s Heat Mode has him access Ifrit’s abilities. Rapid hits come at a speed. Clive has a bit of a pause move that freezes a move for him to get out and counter attack. Clive’s Rage Art turns him into Ifrit to finish off the opponent. Clive does the Final Fantasy XVI pose he has during one of his victory poses. The same one that resembles the cover art from the game.
Clive will be playable as an early release starting December 16th for at least 72 hours in Tekken 8. He’ll be joining Tekken 8’s Eddy, Lidia, and Heihachi on Season 1.
