Look, I’ve made it clear how much I love The Big N on this website. Heck, on the Nintendo Entertainment Podcast, I basically ask them to hire me every single week (the request is still out there!!!!) I do it because I’d really love to work for them, and I know many others would love that opportunity, too. In fact, I can now prove that by a survey of people in Japan that insider Stealth noted on Twitter. An employment agency surveyed some graduates, and of the top companies listed by them as places they wanted to work for, The Big N ranked #3!
For context, the other two companies at the top of the list was trade giant Itochu and a biotech company in Ajinomoto. Given the importance of both fields in today’s world, that’s not too surprising. Still, that means that Nintendo is the top electronics company in Japan that people want to work for, and given the success the company has had since the Switch era started, people rightfully want to go to them and be a part of that magic.
Nintendo's headcount has grown every year since 2017:
2024 – 7724
2023 – 7317
2022 – 6717
2021 – 6574
2020 – 6200
2019 – 5944
2018 – 5501
2017 – 5166Switch's success has literally created jobs.

That follow-up tweet about employee numbers is also very telling, as it shows how Nintendo has been growing its numbers each year with the Switch, and the company’s President has already said that more hirings are coming, likely because of the Switch 2. Thus, people’s desire to work with the company might just come true.
