Netflix announced that a long-forgotten anime crossover is coming to its streaming service! The one-hour One Piece crossover episode features characters from One Piece, Dragonball, and Torkio!
The announcement came via a social media post from Toei Animation. With One Piece episode 590 streaming on Netflix, this marks the first time that the crossover episode was made available on a major streaming network in North America. Even Crunchyroll doesn’t have this episode as their catalog stops at One Piece 589 and picks up against on One Piece 591.
Episode 590 of One Piece is described as follows:
Episode 590 of One Piece, titled “History’s Strongest Collaboration vs. Glutton of the Sea,” is a special crossover between the main characters of One Piece, Dragon Ball and Toriko. In the special, Goku, Monkey D. Luffy and Toriko compete in the IGO tournament to win the Carat meat, which is said to be the most flavorful in the world. Of course, this simple competition becomes anything but as Roronoa Zoro, Zebra and Vegeta clash outside the tournament. After all the fighting, the true purpose of the IGO tournament is revealed to the three Shonen Jump leads.
