It was quite a shock in June when Nintendo revealed The Legend of Zelda Echoes Of Wisdom, as this was the first true, canon, game where Princess Zelda would go on an adventure as the lead character and show why she’s just as much a hero as Link. While many were skeptical at first, the use of the Echoes system, mixed with new mythology and a grand version of Hyrule, made the game something that many people enjoyed. I heaped much praise upon it in my review. However, the ultimate “proof” of success would come via the game’s sales.
Today, Nintendo dropped its financial briefing for the latest fiscal quarter, and in it, they revealed that The Legend of Zelda Echoes Of Wisdom has already sold 2.58 million units by the end of its release month. If you recall, the game came out on September 26th, which meant it sold all those units in less than five days. That’s a big success and easily one of the biggest releases that the Switch has had in 2024.
What this will lead to in the future is uncertain, but it does look bright for Princess Zelda!
